118 Daybed by Pierre Paulin for Ligne Roset, 1950s

Daybed Model 118 by Pierre Paulin by Rosetconception line editions of 1953, the year when Pierre Paulin exhibited this bed in the household arts fair. The first version was edited by TV furniture. The great designers of the 1950s like Alain Richard, André Monpoix, Pierre Guariche, André Simard…. We designed furniture for this publishing house founded by Robert Vecchione. Exemplary functionality and modularity for this bench. Composed of a massive beech and walnut structure, all natural satin varnish. This daybed is based on a round bump in black lacquered steel. The seat is done on an ecru quality fabric mattress with a curl. Seat comfort is offered with a steel chassie equipped with elastic straps. The files are made of orange and red fabric. A beautiful mixture of material. These are the original colors of the first edition of 1953. The two rectangular files are removable and can settle on the wooden tray, which can be used as a coffee table, in order to form an extra bed or a rest bed For a person, or a 3 -seater sofa. The foams are high resilience. Stamped with the Pierre Paulin label and Roset line on the fabric of a file. High quality finish like all Roset line products.
