About This Piece

The Tombone of San Marco View of Milan, oil painting on walnut panel, early 1900s. A work from the Lombard area very close to the painting of Achille Cattaneo (1872-1932), whose pencil signature is on the lower left of this sketch. This small panel was purchased with others and comes from a Milanese painter. In good condition, the small Milanese view is presented within a beautiful tray frame carved on plaster and silvered in mecha, from the second half of the 1800s.
The panel alone measures 15.8 cm x 10.4; measurements given are those of the frame.
