About This Piece

Marilyn – Illuminated Pop Art Relief

In the style of Bill Mack | Mixed-Media Pop Art | Integrated Lighting | 126 × 126 cm

A spectacular, large-format modern Pop Art relief measuring 126 × 126 cm, depicting the iconic figure of Marilyn Monroe as a highly three-dimensional, sculptural relief. While reminiscent of Bill Mack's artistic universe in character and design, the work owes its uniqueness to the mixed media technique and integrated lighting, which forms an essential part of the composition.

On the monochrome, snow-white surface, Marilyn's figure and her richly draped dress, billowing in the wind, almost seem to leap from the picture plane. The finely detailed face, hair, body lines, and especially the deep, rhythmic folds of the dress create a powerful three-dimensional effect.

Light is an integral part of the artwork.

The light source concealed within the inner edge of the frame is not merely decorative lighting: it is a visual element of the artwork itself.

When the light is switched on, the light, coming from the side, sweeps across the raised surfaces of the relief, casting deep shadows in the folds of the dress, around Marilyn, and into the deeper recesses of the sculpture. The contrast between light and shadow significantly enhances the spatial effect, making the snow-white figure almost come to life in the dark surroundings.

By day, it presents itself as an elegant, monochrome contemporary artwork; by night, it transforms into a luminous piece of wall art, creating a unique ambiance in the room. Its appearance is reminiscent of both the exclusive Pop Art interiors of the 1980s and the visual world of modern luxury galleries.

A thin power cable extends from the back of the artwork to supply power to the integrated lighting. This cable can be plugged directly into a standard electrical outlet (EU plug 250 V).
