French chandelier of the 800, with gold gilding technique in focus.

This type of browning, supplanted today by the present galvanic procedure, consisted in preparing an amalgam consisting of gold and mercury applied to swab or spray on 'object that subsequently is reposed in the oven. The high temperature was evaporate the mercury allowing only to gold to remain attached to the treated surface.
This chandelier, finely crafted has a structure in bronze with 8 arms embellished with decorations that while being processed, infuse sobriety in this beautiful object.

The chandelier was electrified in the 60 at the request of an antique dealer, who also carried out the restoration.
