Antique Late 19th Century Pedestal in Solid Oak This antique pedestal in solid oak, dating from the late 19th century, is a fine example of the period's craftsmanship. The pedestal’s design is both elegant and sturdy. Standing tall, the pedestal features a square top with gently beveled edges, ideal for displaying a statue, plant, or decorative item. The central support is comprised of four slender, turned columns, each meticulously carved with vertical fluting and rounded at the top and base, providing both structural integrity and aesthetic charm. The base of the pedestal is robust and nicely detailed, a great detail. The wood has been finished in a rich, dark stain, which highlights the natural grain and depth of the oak. It comes in a good condition with a desirable patina from age and use.
