Beautiful, flow blue antique pitcher/jug, by Doulton Burslem, circa 1890's.
Piece has been designed between 1862 - 1902. It has a deep, cobalt, flow blue rose pattern/design on a white background, with gold gilt decor on and below the rim, spout, handle and bottom (see photos.)
There is an identifying mark/stamp on the base, with a coronet, which was added to the mark in 1886, to mark the appointment of Henry Doulton as "Potter to HRH The Prince of Wales." Under the mark, the word "ENGLAND", was added after 1891 (see photos.)
Piece is in very good, original and vintage condition, with some very light marks, signs of age, and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall body, lip, handle, inside (some small, light, marks/dots), and base, which can be expected for a piece of its age (see photos.) No cracks or chips. Piece has only been gently cleaned with respect to its original patina of time.
All photos taken in natural, indoor light, so colors may vary, based upon brightness, reflections, angles and perspective in which they are viewed.
Dimensions:
Height: 16.5 cm
