About This Piece

Vintage Design

The clock stands tall within a mahogany cabinet, giving it a stately and refined appearance. The wood has a high-gloss finish, which beautifully reflects light and suggests careful preservation. The case is detailed with brass accents on the base, where it rests on four square feet, adding a touch of grandeur and stability. The hood (the top section) houses the impressive clock face and is topped with a simple, yet classic cornice. The dial itself is a major focal point, featuring a large, ornate brass face. It has Roman numerals for the hours, and the center is highly decorative with intricate engraving. Each door is brass-framed. The most distinguishing feature of the base is how it meets the floor. The clock rests upon four robust, square feet, which are capped with prominent, brass mounts. These golden caps are strategically placed on all four corners. This accent is crucial as it visually ties the base to the extensive brass detailing found on the clock's face and the door frame, creating a unified, luxurious, and highly finished appearance for the entire timepiece.
