About This Piece

Vintage Design

Distinguish your workspace with a curated design piece that reflects your unique style. This extraordinary 1975 Artona series desk (Model 7737), designed by the legendary duo Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Maxalto, represents the absolute pinnacle of high-end mid-century Italian craftsmanship. Originally created as part of the sophisticated, artisanal division of B&B Italia, this piece seamlessly merges geometric precision with ultra-luxurious materials.

The architectural presence of the desk is defined by its spectacular top crafted from rich walnut burl wood, showcasing deep, organic grain patterns. Framing this centerpiece is the signature striped inlaid walnut edging, the unmistakable graphic hallmark that makes the Artona series highly coveted by elite collectors worldwide.

Functionality meets absolute elegance in its storage configuration. The center features a slim, leather-wrapped drawer, while both flanks house discrete side compartments hidden behind tactile cognac leather doors, opening to reveal internal shelving. Because the entire backside of the storage units is meticulously finished in matching premium cognac leather, this desk is completely freestanding, making it a spectacular statement piece to place right in the center of an executive room.

This piece has been totally and meticulously restored to excellent condition. The wood has been revitalized to highlight its natural contrast, and the leather panels have been professionally conditioned. It is completely ready to anchor your office, gallery, or high-end living environment with unmatched character.
