Bauhaus Tubular Velvet Chrome Armchair, 1960s, Set of 2

Tubular style armchairs designed by József Peresztegi, a well-known Hungarian bauhaus furniture designer between the two world wars, and the II. became one of the defining figures of the post-World War II period. He is a founding member of the Wood Industry Manufacturing Design and Editing Office, established in 1951, which was the main venue for furniture design in the ’50s.

The chairs upholstered in a high-end Spanish velvet. The dark stained wooden parts are in excellent condition with only a minor patina. The chairs are stable, well sprung.
