Ellie has been working in the forests of the UK for the past seven years, producing work which explores the complex interrelationship between the landscape and the individual.

"What is a forest?" Asks Ellie Davies. "Is it the trees, or is it the space that exists between them?"

In Between The Trees, Davies explores the meaning of the "Forest" by looking at the sense of isolation in the woods. In this body of work, she captures the eerie and thrilling sensation of time standing still in the forest, and the feeling that everything within the forest somehow exists in a different time, space, and state. If you enter this place, you acknowledge the shift in your perception of time.

The voluptuous wisps of smoke, agitating themselves as they hang in the air, allow us to see time moving at an almost imperceptible pace. The smoke guides our eyes away from the trees, so connected with the idea of the forest, and permits us to linger on this notion of "between-ness". Suspended in the air, drifting and yet still, the smoke fills the space and reflects the physical experience of the forest; the inherently reflective mood, the prickling sense of heightened awareness, and the silence. The mist fills the gaps to draw us into the trees between.

Delivery Details

Delivery will be completed by a parcel service such as UPS, DHL, or FedEx.
You will receive a tracking number to monitor the status of your shipment.
Delivery will take place between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
A wooden crate may be used for intercontinental shipments for maximum protection.
Item will be left in its packaging after delivery.
A signature will be required upon delivery.
