Pair of Brutalist Table Lamps in Sand Cast Brass with Rattan Shades, Europe, 1960s. This mesmerizing pair of brutalist table lamps clearly was made by a true artist. The set origins from the 1960s. Clearly this is an original pair, twins since the day they were crafted. Both pieces have their own details, to be seen in the base. One of them is square, with a cylindrical volume holding the vertical rod. The other one is round with a square volume holding the rod. It is this subtle difference in the base, that gives these two lamps each a character of their own. The material used is sand cast brass, it shows great quality. The artistic approach of its creator is visible in the shape of the different elements, the imperfections of the surface and overall feel. The lamps come with vintage rattan shades - a desirable combination. These lamps are both functional items, but also true pieces of art. They will look amazing on a sideboard or side table.
