Berr Carmen 1952- 2006 Städel Städel School Series Lingerie Strawberry Slip graph paper, 21 x 14.7 cm, designated verso, signed and dated 1993/96. Carmen Berr was born in 1952 in Regensburg and died 2006.Berr studied sculpture at Michael Croissant at the Städel School in Frankfurt. Afterwards, Carmen Berr focused mainly on the medium Zeichnung.Die artist reflects in her work often interpersonal relationships, sexuality and the role of women. Berr lived and worked in Frankfurt. Her works are represented among others in the collection of the Deutsche Bank and the Städel Museum. Since 1990, she devoted herself mainly small-format series on graph paper in which it combines influences of Pop Art, the clear forms of the late Henri Matisse and the aesthetics of children's drawings and comics to a very unique style.
