Vintage Design

This ceramic pitcher is a special creation by Roger Capron and made in France in 1960. It's shaped like an abstract bird or rooster and was made in the 1960s. It has a surprising design with a soft white glaze and colourful, tile-like wings. This piece is a classic example of Capron's collectible artwork and represents his style from this time. A bird "Coq" with the sun motif on its chest ceramic pitcher vase by the well-known French ceramic artist Roger Capron of Vallauris. The bright colourful glazes on the white background are typical of the south of France and the artists colorful work of Vallauris, France. Small chip at the underside of the pitcher. Signed Capron Vallauris' on the bottom. Roger Capron started a workshop called l'Atelier Callis in Vallauris, France, where he helped revive pottery and ceramics. His creations are well-loved around the world, and he's a respected artist with a significant body of work.
