Hailing from Gansu, circa 1880, walnut was a popular choice for carpentry in both the Shanxi region and western Gansu province, considered superior to the more abundant elm. with its warm, golden hue and distinctive grain, it was highly coveted. This sophisticated storage cabinet beautifully highlights the wood's unique features, accentuated by a deep, rich stain. Meticulously crafted in Gansu province, the cabinet boasts solid frames, thick panels, and a substantial overhanging top. Its aged appearance, particularly the weathered top surface, adds to its allure, while the understated circular hardware on the two doors is most likely a replacement for the original. Additionally, two lower drawers and a single removable shelf offer generous storage options.
