Hand signed and numbered. Edition of 150 prints. Image dimensions: 78 x 57.5 cm. Constellation III is an extraordinary, brilliantly coloured lithograph by the Spanish artist. Printed on Fabriano paper, it was produced by the Roman printers M2M in 1975. With its great expressive force, Constellation III is a perfect example of the graphic skill Mirò developed over years of continuous innovation and experimenting. Excellent conditions. Les Livres Illustrés, Patrick Cramer Editeur 1989, n.195 Born in Barcelona in 1893, Joan Miró was a Spanish painter, engraver, sculptor and a member of the Surrealist movement. Certainly one of the most dynamic and polyvalent figures on the 20th Century arts scene, Miró went through various creative phases but was always guided by the “instinctive strength of gestures”. Engraving was an important part of Miró’s artistic opus and he always considered graphics as a universe governed by its own laws, on equal footing with painting and sculpture.
