Industry

Founder Craig Appelbaum opened Industry Gallery in January 2010 in Washington, D.C. inside a converted, 4000-square-foot auto-repair shop. The gallery’s second location opened in March 2011 within Los Angeles’ historic Pacific Design Center, also home to a branch of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA).

Industry focuses exclusively on 21st-century design. As its name suggests, the gallery primarily represents designers whose work incorporates modern industrial materials, ranging from carbon fiber and aluminum to recycled paper and glass. Industry’s designer roster includes Tobias Klein, Faye Toogood, Tejo Remy, Tom Price, Philip Michael Wolfson, Johannes Hemann, Elena Manferdini, Benjamin Rollins Caldwell, Maarten De Ceulaer, Formafantasma, and Mathias Bengtsson.
