Dessert service formed by four small dishes, 19.5cm in diameter, and a large one, 36cm in diameter, performed in Bernardaud porcelain of Limoges and ornamented with fruit still staples of the artist Jean-Claude Chauray.
Jean-Claude Chauray (1934-1996) was a French painter of the twentieth century specially recognized for his dead natures. In 1994, the Bernardadud Porcelain House used some of its fruit still lifes to decorate a collection.
In the center of each dish a different scene is represented, on a black background. Framing this scene, and on the edge of the plate a decorative geometric pattern alternating small motifs in gray and white. Finally, the wings are decorated by simulating Carey, the patron of the turtle shells.
The style of the still lifes is hyperrealistic, highlighting each piece of fruit thanks to the lighting that stands out above the dark background.
On the reverse of each dish, "extract of the original work of Jean-Claude Chauray, for Bernardaud Limoges France", the seal of the house together with the artist's signature. They are preserved in its original box. The images are part of the of the conservation status.
The dishes is the letter of presentation of every formal table, and this design is a total success.
