Rare antique Japanese tansu chest – early Meiji period.

Dimensions: height 91 cm, width 87 cm, depth 25 cm

This exceptional drawer cabinet was originally used in a shop – possibly a grocery store, pharmacy, or traditional spice shop.

with 99 small drawers and two larger drawers at the bottom, this cabinet offers impressive storage capacity. Its stunning warm patina and deep brown color are the result of years of intensive use, giving it an authentic and atmospheric character.

Beyond its functionality, this piece also serves as a stylish decorative object. Ideal for storing jewelry, teas, spices, or small collectibles. As seen in the photos, the open drawers can beautifully display plants, adding a playful and lively touch to both modern and classic interiors.

For added convenience, the cabinet features metal handles on the sides, making it easy to move.
