Francois Gustin transformed the parquetry of a Viennese ballroom built in 1863 (according to a date found on one of the panels) into a unique edition of tables. The striking geometry of the pattern is reflected in the elegant contemporary base which highlights the qualities of the material.
This collaboration with Francois Gustin marks the launch of spolia’s Limited Edition Series. With previous clients including Dior, Bene and Phillips, we commissioned Gustin to reappropriate old parquetry with the classic Viennese star pattern.
Made from a distinct combination of oak, maple and walnut inlays, the flooring originates from a ballroom on Vienna’s Ringsgtrasse. Please note that the table's surface is made from carefully restored wood: cracks, replacements and cappings are regarded as authentic characteristics. The table's four feet have to be mounted after unwrapping.
