Born in 1982, Gauthier Bruel lives and works in Mende, France

Gauthier Bruel challenges us through his mystical and mysterious works, where shapes evoke shadows, landscapes, or a flamboyant sunset.

His minimalist art in the use of colors carries a raw, essential intention, which defies any attempt at precise definition.

Behind his powerful paintings lies a story of transformation and discovery. Gauthier found his artistic vocation at the age of 28, following his admission to the Paul Eluard psychiatric hospital in Mende.

The hospital, rich in an artistic history marked by the presence of figures such as Paul Eluard during the Second World War, became a place of revelation for him.

Very attached to his native territory of Lozère, Gauthier expresses in his works the nuances of his promised land and the echoes of a childhood lulled by creativity.
