About This Piece

A striking mid‑century Italian ceramic sculpture by Giovanni Rozan, depicting a prowling leopard in vivid hand‑painted detail. The figure captures the feline’s dynamic tension — mouth open in a silent roar, muscles taut beneath a glossy glaze that accentuates its lifelike form. The surface is meticulously rendered with warm ochre tones and deep brown spots, creating a naturalistic yet stylized effect typical of Rozan’s postwar artistry.

Marked on the underside with the artist’s signature and production number, this piece exemplifies the refined craftsmanship of Italian ceramics from the 1950s. Both sculptural and decorative, it stands as a testament to Rozan’s ability to merge realism with expressive design.
