Tsuitate - a form of single-panel portable partition traditionally used in Japan.

Magnificent decorative carving artwork, from the Meiji period (1868-1912).

Crafted from one large piece of root wood taken from the lower part of a tree trunk.
The wooden panel weighing just under 20 kilograms is presented on two hand-carved matching uprights.
The approximate dimensions are 140 cm x 118 cm x 35 cm.
It is in very good condition and has no repairs.
Due to its age, there are non-disturbing hues on the wooden surface.
Unique interior piece, very decorative. Beautifully whimsically shaped wooden object.
