Vintage Design

Beautiful Japanese cabinet (tansu) made of paulownia wood from the Meiji period.

Dimensions: height 79 cm, width 79 cm, depth 39 cm.

This decorative piece features a total of eight drawers and a storage area with a shelf, enclosed by sliding doors. In the lower left corner, two small drawers are cleverly hidden behind a small door. The storage cabinet is finished with elegant metal fittings and handles, and has two transport brackets on the sides.

This authentic Japanese tansu is a stunning addition to any stylish interior. Its size makes it ideal for displaying plants, ceramics, and small objects.

This type of tansu was once an essential part of every Japanese household. Due to limited living space and a seated lifestyle, furniture was often small and multifunctional. The use of durable, lightweight paulownia wood also made these pieces easy to move.
