Vintage Design

Large Pair of Iconic Orrefors "Medea" Textured Crystal Glass Wall Lamps. The Demi Lune Glass has a Diamond Pattern enhanced and is fixed with brass clips hon a brass base plate, slightly smaller than the glass piece. When the sconces are lit, the textured crystal glass creates a soft illumination and beautiful light is spread in every direction. Design by Carl Fagerlund for Swedish Orrefors in the 1960s. Original lamp holder with one bulb (E14/E12), works perfectly BUT the cable is cut very short so electrician needs to install a new, longer cable, very easy to install hard-wired into the wall. Great vintage condition, no chips are visible when the wall lights are mounted. A few nails on the glass at the back side (where glass meets brass plate) but not visible at all when mounted. Dimensions H 25 cm x W 17 cm x D 12 cm H 9.8 in. x W 6.7 in. x D 4.7 in.

Carl Fagerlund

Swedish glass and lighting designer Carl Fagerlund was born in 1915. Though information on this designer is limited, it is confirmed that he trained at Stockholm A.C.S., qualifying as a design teacher. From 1946 to 1980, he worked as a designer at the venerable Swedish glassworks Orrefors, renowned for its high-quality crystal and art glass.
