Vintage Design

An exceptionally elegant and opulent nine-light Mid-Century Modern chandelier from the 1970s. This stately piece is heavily inspired by the iconic Scandinavian designs of Hans-Agne Jakobsson (particularly the Patricia series) and perfectly embodies the luxurious glamour of that era. The geometric frame, crafted from solid, polished brass, supports nine large, hand-blown spheres of tinted smoked glass. The combination of the warm, amber glow of the glass and the rich gold tone of the brass creates a breathtaking, atmospheric ambiance when illuminated. An absolute statement piece for sophisticated vintage interiors, stately dining rooms, or grand entrance halls.

Design & Provenance
This magnificent chandelier is an outstanding example of high-end German lighting design from the 1970s. Manufactured by the renowned producer Hustadt Leuchten, the design is unmistakably inspired by the iconic Scandinavian designs of Hans-Agne Jakobsson. A particular highlight are the nine mouth-blown, amber-colored glass spheres: they exhibit the typical, excellent quality and organic structure for which renowned glassworks like Peill & Putzler were world-famous during this era. A perfectly harmonious interplay of German craftsmanship and Scandinavian style.

Condition Report

Overall condition: In very good vintage condition and fully functional.

Brass frame: The brass has beautifully retained its deep, mirror-like luster. In keeping with its age and authenticity, it displays a charming vintage patina as well as slight oxidation spots. These are mainly located on the very bottom end caps of the vertical tubes and on the underside of the central cylinder (as honestly documented in the detail photos). Once the chandelier is mounted on the ceiling and hanging, these areas are completely hidden and practically invisible.

Glass: All nine smoked glass globes are in excellent condition, without chips, cracks, or deep scratches. They display the beautiful, organic irregularities typical of mouth-blown glass.

Wiring: Original wiring. As with all vintage lighting, we recommend having the piece inspected by a qualified electrician before final installation.
