Vintage Design

The Letter 22 is a popular portable mechanical typewriter made by the Olivetti company. It was one of the most successful Olivetti products in the 1950s[1] and received awards both in Italy and abroad, and is also displayed in the permanent design collection at the Museum of Modern Art, New York Designed in 1950 by architect and designer Marcello Nizzoli, who presented a painting at the I Quadriennale Romana in 1931; he produced an advertisement for Olivetti with Persico, thus beginning his association with the Ivrea-based company. The specimen offered, comes with the original box that serves as a carrying case and briefcase and the instruction booklet.
