Lola Vitelli, Aria di Miele, 2021, Mixed Media on Canvas, Framed

Aria di miele is a striking mixed-media work by Italian artist Lola Vitelli, whose painting explores the delicate boundary between instinct, consciousness and emotional expression.

The composition is built around a dense proliferation of bees, rendered through a sophisticated combination of gold leaf, silver leaf, modelling paste and fluorescent yellow acrylic. Against the deep background, the repeated figures create a powerful visual rhythm, while the metallic surfaces introduce changing reflections and a distinctive material quality.

Behind its immediate decorative impact, the work carries an environmental reflection. Vitelli presents the bee as a symbol of the fragile balance of nature and of the growing pressure caused by human intervention. The bright, almost playful colours recall the imaginative world of childhood, yet the crowded composition conveys a contrasting sensation of tension and confinement.

The richly layered surface and tactile use of materials are characteristic of Lola Vitelli's artistic language, in which colour, gesture and texture become instruments of emotional and conceptual communication.

Mixed media on canvas. The original white frame forms an integral part of the presentation of the artwork.
