About This Piece

Vintage Design

An elegant console table in molded and carved mahogany, partially gilded, exquisitely illustrating the neoclassical aesthetic so characteristic of the Louis XVI style. The apron features rich ornamentation composed of egg-and-dart friezes and ribboned laurels, framed by a beaded frieze, demonstrating meticulous carving and a pronounced taste for antique motifs. The four tapered legs, with gilded fluting and fine carving, are connected by a curved stretcher centered with a decorative carving, reinforcing stability while emphasizing the overall symmetry. The griotte marble top, with its carved edge in an inverted cavetto molding, completes the harmony of the piece with its noble contrast and understated mineral quality. A decorative and structured piece, ideal for enhancing a classic interior or complementing a contemporary setting.
