Launched in 2014 by founder Catherine Pfisterer, Bazar Noir is a Berlin-based design shop and interiors studio. Its in-house produced collection, Bazar Noir Editions, features handcrafted works by contemporary makers from around the globe, including Jojo Corväiá, Tilen Sepić, Marc Dibeh, and others. According to Pfisterer, “There is a certain Bazar Noir DNA. The main language is minimalist design, texture, patina, and noble, natural materials—wood, marble, stone, leather, clay. It’s all about the material and the experience. I want people to enjoy interacting with these pieces. There are always little details that make the objects extra special.”
