Mid-Century Modern Danish Teak Chest of Drawers, 1960s

This Danish chest of drawers from the 1960s is an example of Mid-Century Modern design, which emphasized proportion, functionality, and quality joinery.

The sideboard rests on slender, slightly tapered legs, which lend lightness to the shape and lift the body off the floor. This approach was characteristic of Danish furniture of the period – it allowed for a visual lightening of the form and brought more light into the space beneath the piece.

The entire piece maintains a balance between function and form. The design is based on simple lines, a clear structure, and natural materials. The piece has been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The renovation was carried out by a talented and experienced carpenter with over 20 years of experience. Thanks to these treatments, the desk looks wonderful and will serve its new owner for many years without fear of damage or wear and tear from everyday use.
