About This Piece

Contemporary Design

Oblivion Wall Sculpture by Corine Vanvoorbergen Dimensions: Ø 200 cm + 30x30 cm cube Materials: Wood, brass and volcanic sand Round wall piece, with a cube, turning around slowly to cast a shadowplay of the cube “Cosmic Oblivion of Possibilities”: Navigating the Constellation of Sustainability” Oblivion for short is a kinetic artwork made of volcanic sand. In this expansive cosmos of ecological responsibility, the choices are as endless as the stars that fill the night sky. from the intricacies of recycling to the subtleties of reducing your ecological footprint, the pathways to positive change seem to stretch into the oblivion of possibilities. The challenge lies not only in making the right choices but also in navigating the vast sea of information, often muddled by conflicting advice and the absence of clear guidelines on what constitutes the “right thing” to do.
