Oushak-Inspired Rug with Blue Floral Patterns by Rug&Kilim

Hand-knotted in wool, this 9x12 rug is an exquisite new entry in Rug & Kilim’s Modern Classics Collection, inspired by the most storied vintage and antique Oushak rugs, gorgeously recaptured with a more transitional, contemporary approach to color and scale that uniquely reimagines the style. On the Design: In this rug, a field of luminous pale silver-gray and soft cream underscores an array of oversized floral patterns—a serene, ethereal palette of ice blue and amber gold hues that recaptures the regal-yet-informal grace of a classic Oushak in a sophisticated new light. The composition favors a profound sense of spaciousness, allowing the creamy ground to act as a quiet sanctuary for the central medallion and delicate floral sprays, which bloom in whispers of silver-blue, muted gold, and soft tan. The botanical motifs, including elegant palmettes and scrolling vines, draw from the eclectic spirit of 19th-century Turkish designs, where formal architecture met the whimsical heart of tribal art. This weaving technique meticulously complements the old-world look of the pattern, while the high-quality, luxury construction ensures a durable and comfortable presence suited for high-traffic modern interiors. These and many other subtle details mark a thoughtful and inventive contribution to the rustic charm and transitional whimsy of Oushak rugs. This piece is an intentional homage to a classic style, translated through a current lens of comfort and sophisticated, smart design language.
