Vintage Design

An early 19th-century Mason’s Patent Ironstone China teapot produced in Staffordshire circa 1820–1830, combining the documented “New Oval” form with richly executed Red Scale / Conversation decoration. The dense iron-red scale ground, Chinese conversation reserves and bold enamel palette place it among Mason’s more decorative chinoiserie wares.

Its faceted body, domed cover and sculptural serpentine hydra-form handle reinforce the ornamental ambition of the design, while the printed Mason’s Patent Ironstone China mark confirms authentic production.

Excellent condition. Full preservation of enamels and decoration. Full lid present.
