“Understated, sophisticated, relaxed, strong, natural, authentic, nature-inspired (especially by the ocean), passionate.” This is how New York stylist-turned-designer Sara Beltrán describes Dezso, her exquisite collection of handmade, bohemian-chic jewelry.
After 12 years working in fashion, Beltrán began making jewelry for herself. What began as a hobby quickly caught the attention of her former colleagues and led to a thriving career designing accessories, furniture, textiles, and more.
Beltrán’s work is shaped by three passions: Mexico, her home country; India, her adopted home for the past three years; and her deep love and fear of the ocean. She collects shells, driftwood, and stones not only as precious treasures, but also as the formal inspiration and raw materials for her dreamy, one-off jewelry pieces—like this Petit Fin Pave Blue Tiger Eye Earrings.
The pair of tiger eyes in the earrings, with their distinctive navy blue hue, were mined in South Africa and sourced by Beltrán in one of Jaipur’s dazzling mineral markets. She then worked with Indian artisans to carve the stones into the shark fin shape and to set them in 18-karat rose gold. The show-stopping finishing touch is a constellation of shimmering white diamonds! Chic, beachy sophistication for free spirits.
