About This Piece

Milanese producer Segno Italiano commissioned a collection of lively, ornate centerpieces from the artisans of Franchini, who found a new life for the vintage 19^th century molds used in production. This project hearkens back to the days of the Venetian republic, when spectacular objets d’art adorned lavish banquet tables.

Since 1784, the Franchini manufactory has sat at the foot of the Euganean Hills in Veneto, where abundant, high quality clay is sourced for their ceramics. While a canal once powered the machinery, today the workshop has modern comforts; yet the production methods—the molding, modeling, firing, and glazing—all observe traditional methods.

Working to preserve traditional craftsmanship and skills, Segno Italiano source, commission, and distribute high-quality Italian artisanal works to an international audience.

Pyramid with white mixed fruits, fashioned from the original ceramic moulds created of the workshop of Girolamo Franchini in Este, opened in 1784, is fully customizable with a wide range of fruits, vegetables, and baskets.

The Trionfi are the most ancient and traditional expressions of the Este Ceramics collection: fruits and vegetables, fully recreated by hand following the original proportions, are decorative objects either alone or together.

Delivery Details

Delivery will be completed by a parcel service such as UPS, DHL, or FedEx.
You will receive a tracking number to monitor the status of your shipment.
Delivery will take place between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
A wooden crate may be used for intercontinental shipments for maximum protection.
Item will be left in its packaging after delivery.
A signature will be required upon delivery.

Eligo

Eligo is a Milan-based brand that specializes in artisanally produced objects that blend traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary aesthetic sensibility.

Originally founded under the Segno Italiano in 2011, Eligo was born from the passion of friends and colleagues Domenico Rocca (born in Sassuolo, Modena in 1981), Alberto Nespoli (born in Milan in 1981), Paolo Tarulli (born in Pordenone in 1980), and Leo Prusicki (born in Milan in 1979). These young entrepreneurs collaborate with a network of skilled Italian craftspeople to develop striking collections of ceramics, cookware, furniture, and more. Many of the designs produced by Eligo are inspired by historically important Italian craft typologies.

Projects to date include, among others, Empoli Green Glassware, which was inspired by centuries-old Tuscan glassmaking traditions; the Chiavari Chair, a modern recreation of the lightweight, classic fisherman chair; the Ramaioli Tridentini Collection, a celebration of copper cookware and accessories dating back to the mid-1900s; and the Trionfi di Frutta Centerpieces, made from 19th-century Venetian molds.

Eligo also organizes exhibitions, creates documentary videos, and acts as a commercial agent for artisans on the global market. The company art directs tailor-made collections for its customers and serves as an interior design agency for private homes and shops.
