About This Piece

Letter D is a beautiful original lithograph, realized by the Spanish poet Rafael Alberti (Puerto de Santa María,1902 – 1999) in 1972. From "Il Lirismo dell'Alfabeto". Our plate representing the letter of the "lyric alphabet” D, is hand-signed and dated in pencil on lower right margin. In excellent condition, this is a precious artist proof, numbered in pencil on lower left margin and in Roman numerals. From an edition of 99 prints, numbered in Arabic numerals, plus 20 artist's proofs in Roman numerals. Rafael Alberti (Puerto de Santa María, 1902 – 1999) Rafael Alberti was a Spanish poet, symbol of poetry focused on political and civic commitment. For this reason, he was forced to spend most of his life in exile. Worthy of mention are his memories La arboleda perdida.
