This is a mirror image copy of an earlier painting which was destroyed in the 2025 Malibu fires. Lavishly created with hand ground pigments and gold leaf, white and yellow, Berlin has excelled himself with this piece inspired by a rare sighting of a shooting star above his home one clear Winter night. from the Japanese word Nerigajo to the Chumash word Alakiwohoch, many cultures and religions reference the special significance of shooting stars. When a star falls from the sky it leaves a fiery trail but it does not die. Its soul returns to its own place to shine again.
