About This Piece

A sculptural side table with a top made of authentic fossilized (petrified) wood, characterized by an irregular cross-section that preserves the primordial appearance of the trunk, with natural grain and intact "bark" edges. The top displays internal stratifications of extraordinary aesthetic quality, evidence of a geological process lasting millions of years. The tripod structure is made of cast bronze, modeled in the shape of intertwined branches. The legs feature naturalistic bronze snails, each unique and individually molded—a detail that gives the piece an artistic character and a possible stylistic signature of the author. The piece combines the most ancient material—the fossil—with a contemporary sculptural intervention, generating a poetic balance between nature and art. The appearance is that of a European atelier piece, likely a one-of-a-kind, created between the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
