With the last licks of summer comes the biannual fashion and design week event mayhem. In the mix is the Parisian Maison et Objet show, which offers a glimpse into design retail and interior design trends. We traveled to the show to see what's new, but also caught up with a number of talented designers and studio—EO Denmark, Bokja, Emko, and Monique Van Vessem—whom we already know well. Their latest collections will be available shortly on Pamono, so stay tuned!
Speaking of fabulous designers; with every new edition, Maison et Objet Paris elects a Designer of the Year, who represents the best in industrial and interior design worldwide. This September, they honored Ramy Fischler, a Belgian-born, Paris-based interior concept designer whose obsession is never to repeat himself.
While admiring Fischler’s nonstop search for innovation, we noted that many of our favorite design tendencies from previous seasons are still very much piping hot—bold colors, clean lines, playfulness, and, most conspicuously, a rising appreciation for an exploration of craft. As a personal aside, I’m thrilled also to report that green was in abundance, and fringe is absolutely here to stay! Here of are some pieces that encapsulate the mood in Paris last week.
