Pair of large Danish table lamps Michael Andersen in Ve - from the 1960s most likely designed by Marianne Starck. In Persian glaze.
While the incredible and award-winning enamel "Persia" by Michael Andersen & Sons was developed in the 1930s by Daniel Andersen (1885-1959) and used on parts from this date, they are Marianne Starck's creations at Mas & Sons in the 1950s. And the 1960s when Persian glaze was seen at its best.
This complex glaze is revealed differently on each piece, depending on the glaze dyes used and the decoration style. Sometimes it appears as a pearly multicolored micro-mosaic, and at other times as a more subtle pattern decoration with gray pearly shades. Often, the parts using this glaze have a beautiful but subtle oxidation of the glaze, giving certain colors a slightly metallic appearance.
