Ubald Klug for De Sede, pair of DS-1025 'Terrazza' landscape sofa elements, leather, Switzerland, 1970s. Waterfall shaped sofas in burgundy leather by the Swiss manufacturer De Sede. The design for this sofa was inspired by mountains and especially the Alps. This design resembles a terraced hill with widths and depths that vary in tapering steps. Both playful and opulent; the design of this landscape is simply spectacular. The leather upholstery shows a beautiful patina that adds to its overall character. De Sede once started as a saddler's workshop in Klingnau, Switzerland. Slowly, the company widened their Scope and committed themselves to transforming the best possible leather into seating furniture. In 1965 the family-run business grew into a professional company and their name was De Sede AG. DeSede products are detail-obsessed with the main focus on the people who own and use them. Therefore, all the DeSede items are made out of the best materials which results in durability and comfort.

About the Maker

de Sede

Like many luxury leather goods brands, furniture-manufacturing company de Sede started out as a saddle-making atelier. Based in Klingnau—located in northern Switzerland near the German border—the company traces its high-end furniture production back to 1965, when the original family-run business incorporated and began to collaborate with international designers on the creation of handmade, premium-leather-clad chairs, lounges, and sofas. Over the years, de Sede’s product offering has expanded to include tables, beds, and more.
