Vanitas Still Life is an original tempera and watercolor realized in the late 18th century probably by Cornelis van Spaendonck (a Dutch still life painter), whom the work is attributed to, after a drawing by the earlier Master Herman Henstenburgh (1667-1726). The composition represents a still life composition where the main ''character'' is a skull on a base surrounded by flowers, a flute, and an arrangement. Provenance: Sotheby's, London, July 4th, 1977 (listed as Cornelis Van Spaedonck). Minor fading on top right of sheet, some stains which do not affect the composition, otherwise very good conditions. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price. The shipping may require additional handling days to require the licence according to the final destination of the artwork.
