Vintage Boing 747 Scale Model

The plane: the Boeing 747, also known as Jumbo Jet, is one of the most famous modern airliners and, throughout 2008, is the second largest aircraft in its category. The first commercial flight took place in 1970 and for more than 35 years it held the record in size, later passed to the Airbus A380.
Due to its shape, its dimensions and its load capacity, it has become over time a real symbol of mechanical power, as well as of elegant majesty.
The Boeing plane has four engines and has two decks to accommodate passengers: the "hump" created by the upper deck makes it easily recognizable. A typical three-class configuration accommodates 416 passengers, while a two-class configuration accommodates a maximum of 524 passengers. As of February 2006, 1,430 units have been produced or ordered in various configurations, making the 747 one of the most prolific products for Boeing.
The 747-400, the only series still in production, flies at subsonic speed (approximately Mach 0.85) and has a range of approximately 13,400 km. In some configurations, this is enough for a non-stop flight from New York to Hong Kong, one third of the world's circumference. In 1989 a Qantas 747-400 made a non-stop flight from London to Sydney, for a total of about 18,000 km, in 20 hours and 9 minutes, although it must be specified that it was a delivery flight with no passengers or goods on board.
