A beautiful and elegant 'Castellane' sofa by renowned furniture makers Howard & Sons. c.1920

An exceptional sofa of perfect proportions featuring square tapered legs, wonderful knife-edge detail to the fronts of the arms and 'seige de duvet' cushions and bolsters. Professionally reupholstered to Howard's original spec to the very highest of standards using their factory monogrammed ticking. Rear left leg stamped '15489-5310 Howard & Sons Ltd Berners St' with the castors also stamped with Howard & Sons. Remnants of the original paper label remain to the underside of the centre support rail.

Some pencil inscriptions were also found during the restoration to the original arm cushion lining reading 'Large Castellane, Cameron, Gabe'; perhaps referring to the model, client and maker of this sofa during it's original build.

Full restoration and re-upholstery completed by Giles Bray of Middleton-Bray Upholstery in February 2022.
