About This Piece

Vintage Design

Elegant 1960's floor lamp by Charlotte Wawer in cognac leather with large parchment leather shade creating a warm light. The hand made drum shade in parchment is bind with leather borders, part hand stitched with leather and connected by brass elements. The Leather covered foot is connected to brushed brass sleeves on the top and bottom over the leather covered stem. Charlotte Wawer designing lamps in the early 1940's rebuilt her business after the 2nd world war as the company Wohnraumleuchten, producing high quality lamps and lampshades. Her refined lamps are designed with a rich use of leather and brass and shades in parchment and leather with a lot of hand stitched details. She run the company with her husband Clemens. The lamp holds the company label. The lamp holds two E27 light bulbs. Dimensions base; Height 151 cm, Diameter 32 cm. Dimensions lamp shade; Height 42 cm, Diameter 56 cm.
