Vintage Design

The Swedish word röllakan comes from the old norse word ryglakan, originating in a corresponding German word, ruggelakan. The word means back cloth, and was used as many of these rugs were hanged on walls, behind people’s backs, and on the backrests of chairs. The spelling is most commonly röllakan, but you will also see the spelling with only one “l”, i.e. rölakan

This stunning vintage rug was woven in the mid 20th century. . by MLB It features a composition of warm sunny colors, which can brighten up even the bleakest day. Lovely shades of yellow, sandy beige and brown work together in a perfect harmony, creating a perfectly balanced composition.
