Vintage Design

Semi was designed in 1968. Bonderup and Thorup wanted to produce a lamp that featured sharp, clean lines and a geometric shape. Their design was submitted to a competition at the Art Academy's School of Architecture, and won first prize.
In the 1980s, the pendulum achieved great success and at the time became the best-selling Danish design and achieved worldwide recognition and icon status.
