Chess and checkers game designed by architect Antonella Fonda. Chess and checkers were finely crafted by specialists in high-precision turned metalwork, the metal used being brass as it is more suitable, both because of its consistency and because it lends itself better to the galvanic process. The turning and milling marks are evidence that the items were carefully machined one by one and not mass printed. Gilding with fine gold by galvanic process and chrome plating were chosen for coloring. These treatments also serve to make the metal unalterable. Chessboard made of fine 5 mm crystal, carefully silk-screen printed with indelible ink; the lower truncated pyramid support is made of wood, covered with a thin layer of black velvet. All pieces have a red velvet coating on the bottom with the designer's signature. The crystal chessboard has 44 cm side. All with original box. A unique, unobtainable piece , dating from about the 1980s.
Condition: Small missing screen print otherwise very good state of preservation.
