Vintage Design

A selection of modular wall units from the popular PS System designed by Preben Sørensen in the early 1950s and manufactured in Denmark by Randers Møbelfabrik. This supremely versatile system can be configured in countless combinations with each of the shelves and cabinets independently hung on metal pins inserted into holes along the two-metre rails.

The units listed here are examples of the earlier form of the system. There are metal bushes lining the peg holes in the uprights and the edges of the boards are finished in real teak veneer rather than the printed decorative strips used in later versions.

This combination comprises 4 x 2m wall rail; 4 x 30cm book shelves with brass suspension arms; 2 x 45cm desk/shelf with brass-plated suspension arms; 1 x large sliding door cabinet 45.5cm d x 50cm h; smaller sliding door cabinet 35cm d x 35cm h; cabinet with drop-down door and lock; hanging pins and shelf supports. All units are 80cm wide.

Good vintage condition; some minor marks and wear consistent with age. Repair to one end of one of the uprights.
