Faye Toogood

Born in 1977 in Rutland in the UK, designer Faye Toogood studied fine art and art history at Bristol University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 1998. The following year, she began working closely with Min Hogg, the founding editor of The World of Interiors Magazine, as a stylist for the London-based publication. In 2004, Toogood became the magazine’s decoration editor. In 2008, she founded Studio Toogood in London along the banks of the Regents Canal. In 2013, she also launched the fashion label Toogood, with her sister, Erica Toogood.

As a designer, Faye Toogood creates highly sculptural furniture and products—ranging from cups to bespoke sculptures—as well as interior spaces and multi-sensory installations. She finds beauty in the unexpected juxtaposition of objects; she prefers to present her designs as numbered “Assemblages,” so that both her objects and the three-dimensional spaces in which they are exhibited share a larger, unified narrative. To date, her client roster includes fashion houses Phillip Lim, Alexander McQueen, Kenzo, Vivienne Westwood, and Comme des Garçons, as well as brands like Tom Dixon, Established & Sons, and Opening Ceremony.

Her work has been exhibited at some of the world’s most respected galleries and institutions, including Philips de Pury in New York and Gallery Fumi in London. In 2012, Toogood was honored with the Wallpaper* Design Award for Best Use of Material.

She lives and works in London.
